About Us
Hello, my name is John.
I’ve been developing and designing websites for over ten years. It’s what I love to do. Since my mission trip to Ethiopia in 07, I’ve been inspired to make a difference in the world. I didn’t know how or through what, but I knew I had the motivation to do something, to give back. There is only one earth that we all live on, and I believe that we all must play a part in making this world a better place for tomorrow.
I started Sidewalk Project as an annual event to help the community through the funds raised from art sales. I admit, the idea was novel, but the execution and business model were poor. After three awesome events, the concept fizzled, and Sidewalk Project was left defeated. I knew i had to re-strategize the plan and figure out what could be done better.
In the process, I thought about how I could help people with not only what I love to do but what I am good at doing. I thought about all the people and organizations that need websites but can’t afford the costs of building and maintaining them: non-profits trying to promote a particular cause, individuals raising awareness for issues near and dear to their hearts, e.g. rare diseases afflicting their loved ones.
So what is Sidewalk Project?
We’re a non-profit group that offers professional web services at no cost. No gimmicks?, no side sales, no bull-sh*t. We’re here to help those non-profits and people that help others in some way the best possible services we can at no cost. 100% free. How do I get myself a free website?
- Go to our form online here, fill it out, and tell us why you need a website.
- We’ll review all applicants in a timely manner only choose select applicants. We’re a small team with only so much time.
